What’s Happening in Room 17?

As part of a Social Studies PBL Unit on Ancient Egypt, Ms. Coyle had her 6th grade students do a Directed Drawing exercise to draw a typical Egyptian hieroglyphic image. The students first practiced the basic elements of shape – dot, circle, line, curve, etc. and then they were shown how to break down the sample drawing of an Egyptian male into those basic elements and put it to paper.

After just 30 minutes, some amazing hieroglyphics were starting to emerge!

A big thank you to our “PCC Angels” for donating the Sharpie pens that you see being used by the students!
