Roosevelt School Tours

Interested families are welcome to take a tour of our school. See for yourself why Roosevelt’s Project Based Learning program is such an exciting new addition to the Redwood City School District!
Learn about Project Based Learning and how it can teach your child critical thinking and 21st Century skills. Find out how Project Based Learning is incorporated into Roosevelt’s standards-based TK – 8 program and how a classroom with PBL compares to a standard classroom.

Incoming Kindergarten parents may attend both our Kindergarten Information Night and one of the daytime tours, but both are not required.

Please call our school office at 650.369.5597 to reserve a spot for our Kindergarten Information Night, 3rd Grade & Beyond!, Moving on Up to Middle School, or any of our school tours.

3rd Grade & Beyond! Information Night:

Tuesday, October 18 at 6:00pm
We know that transitioning to 3rd grade involves more than just moving downstairs for our current Roosevelt families! As your 2nd grader is growing and developing academically, we want you to see how PBL grows with them in the Intermediate grades. This is an evening where you will find out what PBL looks like in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade.

Parents of 2nd graders not currently attending Roosevelt are also welcome to attend. Please call our school office to reserve a spot.

Middle School Information Night:
Wednesday, November 9 at 6:00pm

Our school district has several choices for Middle School, but Roosevelt is the only one offering a full PBL program for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. Come and find out what that looks like at an intimate evening with Roosevelt’s Middle School teachers, Principal Girardi and current parents. Learn what types of PBL projects are woven into Common Core in Science and Social Studies. You will also hear about our robust Enrichment Program for our Middle School students including music, art, drama, photography, computer skills and more!

Parents of 5th graders not currently attending Roosevelt are also welcome to attend. Please call our school office at 369-5597 to reserve a spot.

Other Grade Levels:

If you are interested in touring a grade level other than Kindergarten, please call the office for information. Please note that Kinder tour groups are also shown other grade level classrooms, but more time is spent in the Kindergarten classrooms.

Interested school administrators and teachers are also welcome to visit our school and meet with our Principal as well as our  PBL Coordinator, Shari Tsuchiyama. Ms. Tsuchiyama is also available for on-site staff training for grades K – 8. Please contact Roosevelt’s school office to discuss your school’s PBL training needs.
