The History of PBL at Roosevelt
In a district- wide supported effort to revitalize Roosevelt School, we began the mission of reinventing our school with the future of education in mind. Our goal was to create a school that would meet the needs of ALL students in Redwood City's diverse community - from English Language Learners to gifted students.
We strive for the most engaging, rigorous and excellent education for our students. To be fully prepared for the modern world, our students learn to communicate, think critically, collaborate, and be innovative.
Our work began in 2007 with the introduction of Project Based Learning (PBL). Since the introduction of PBL, our school is now a place where our students love learning.
PBL creates opportunities for learning with depth and complexity where students think, learn, work, communicate, collaborate, and contribute. Students gain hands- on experiences, solve complex problems, and connect learning to future college and career goals.
